Rufus-Rusty

irufus.jpg

This is Rufus, he came to Madison Animal Rescue 14 months ago. He had been abused, was heart worm positive, and was scared to death of everyone. He went from Foster home to boarding to Foster home again and finally landed with a wonderful Foster. Today he was adopted by an amazing couple who bonded with him and he really liked them too. They heard his history and are willing to give him the love and patience to come out of his shell and be the dog he deserves to be. THIS is why we do what we do.

A note from Rufus' new Mom
Hi Miki
Thank you for the letter. I am glad that we adopted Rufus (Rusty now) and he is getting along fine. He fits in well with the other dogs and is starting to learn to trust Greg and I . He really loves food so the kitchen is the room where he is most likely to take the initiative to approach us. Otherwise, he will sometimes come up to us when the other dogs are milling around and lets us pet him most easily when we are also petting the other dogs. I heard him bark for the first time the other day when he and Katy were chasing a neighbor’s cat out of our back yard. He actually wags his tail in the mornings when I get up and in the evenings when we come home and let them in from the backyard. He likes to sleep under the bed with Katy at night. He is a sweet gentle soul and you can’t help but love him.

Keep in touch.
Patty
